Local Transportation

Local transportation in Nevşehir is mainly provided by municipal buses. Regular bus services connect the university, city center, and surrounding neighborhoods, making it easy for students to travel across the city.

Domestic Transportation – How to Get to Nevşehir?

From Ankara

  • By Plane:

After landing at Ankara Esenboğa Airport, take a shuttle to Ankara Intercity Bus Terminal (AŞTİ).

  • By Bus:

Traveling by bus from Ankara to Nevşehir takes approximately 3 hours. Upon arrival at Nevşehir Bus Terminal, you can reach the city center using local buses, minibuses, or taxis.

  • By Car:

Driving from Ankara to Nevşehir takes about 2.5–3.5 hours via the Ankara–Aksaray–Nevşehir route.

 

From Istanbul

  • By Plane:

There are direct daily flights from both Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Nevşehir Kapadokya Airport. From the airport, which is about 30 km from the city centre, you can use shuttle buses or taxis to reach Nevşehir city centre in about 30 minutes. Besides that Kayseri Airport is also so close to Nevşehir city centre which is about 60 km and 1 hour.

  • By Bus:

The bus ride from Istanbul to Nevşehir takes around 10–11 hours. Buses depart regularly from Istanbul’s Esenler Bus Terminal.

  • From Other Cities
